ZOTTO: A SUPERNATURAL
JAPANESE FOLKTALE

PROJECT DETAILS: 
Original Production written by Courtney Ozaki-Durgin and created by Japanese Arts Network, Theatre Artibus, and Luster Productions in collaboration and devised with the full cast and design team.  

ROLE: Creative Producer and Tour Production. 
Currently re-developing to tour with generous support from the New England Foundation for the Arts National Theatre Project grant.  


STATUS: 
Touring to Los Angeles in 2026, Seattle with Seattle Theatre Group in 2027. 
Seeking commissioning and venue partners in Seattle and Los Angeles, and future touring opportunities. 


ABOUT THIS SHOW:
ZOTTO is an original story set in an immersive theatrical world of magical realism where audiences follow Miya, a fifth generation Japanese American aspiring manga artist in her search for her grandmother;  interweaving Japanese folklore, historical events, and a quest for inter-generational connection.
